i was on the internet on my Mac when a warning message popped up. I can’t get this message off my screen and it has an Apple support number which when I googled it nothing related to Apple support came up. Is this a scam and what should I do ?

No, the popup messages are harmless, unless the user clicks to download some bogus app, or calls any number indicated in the message. There are popup blockers available for the Mac, but I couldn't recommend one, as I've never had the need to us one.
Is there anyway they can access any of my personal information that is on my Mac? I didn't ring the number I have since just closed the tab.
also do Macs not have pop up blockers ?
