Powerbeats pro ringing in one ear / not working

For some reason, my left earbud on my Powerbeats pro won't work and just emits a high pitched ringing sound. I've tried re-setting it, but didn't work. Any suggestions?

Hey,

I had this problem, then I downloaded the "Beats Updater" program from the beatsbydre website. Put my headphones in the case, plugged it into my Windows PC via USB, found they were already up-to-date. Renamed them, and when I unplugged them the noise was gone and I could re-pair them.

Not sure what part of that process fixed the issue, but those are all the steps I took in case anyone else wants to try.

Just sharing an experience I just come across. My left earbud had the same issue. Since I was on the street I cant do the “regular” fix, so I put it back to the case and continued using my right earbud. After 20 mins or so, I took the left bud out and it worked without issue. No reset, no forgot and reconnect. Just put it back for some time and take it out

Hi. This helped me so I'm bothering to log in and help. There's a step not listed above.

  1. Forget the device in iPhone Bluetooth
  2. Download Beats Updater (I don't know if this is vital; I'm using Chrome on Mac)
  3. Plug in your Powerbeats Pro case with earbuds in them (it said I already had the newest firmware)
  4. Rename it (again, idk if vital; I ended up renaming it 2x - once to something new, once to back to what it was)

This is all the above said to do. When I got here, it gave me a "Not your Powerbeats Pro" message, and refused to pair. Called Beats department.

Step 5: Reset your Beats case with the earbuds in them. Not 3 or 5 seconds. 15 seconds. Should turn red briefly after the 15 sec, then to white, and then to slowly flashing white. Should give you the normal pair your new Apple headphones pop-up.

Hi there, jcadet11,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand from your post that one of your Powerbeats Pro earbuds don't seem to work as expected. I'm happy to help!

I see you've already reset the earbuds. Since that hasn't solved your problem, I'd recommend getting in touch with Apple Support directly for additional assistance. You can do that here: Contact Apple Support.

Have a lovely day!

Yeah... all these common sense responses are kinda useless. Of course you should disconnect and forget the device... like what? Why bother logging in to post that?

Literally just had the same problem again, my solution was the only one that helped. I think people who come to this page have tried the common sense solutions.
