Can we work remotely with Apple Support to unlock iPads used by employees with an unknown personal appleid? We have proof of ownership etc.

Can we work remotely with Apple Support to unlock iPads used by employees with an unknown personal appleid? We have proof of ownership etc.
As far as I know, Apple doesn't unlock such that data can be retrieved. It kind of runs counter to their stance on security if they would somehow give access to data in a way that bypasses the security.
I'm sure that they can restore pretty much any iPad to factory settings where it can start as if it were a new device. They certainly do that for iPads they take in from service that they refurbish.
With the original purchase receipt, Apple may be willing to wipe the iPad and let another user use it. Without the original purchase receipt, they won't help at all.
This is why companies should ALWAYS use Mobile Device Management on company owned assets. This could never happen if they did.
Ask them. You'll need to supply them with the purchase receipt.
