iOS 12.4 - cannot trust my computer to sync to iTunes

I used to be able to plug in my phone into my computer and it would automatically open iTunes, then begin sync. Now I get this window that pops up asking me whether or not I trust this computer only it keeps slashing on and off - and never allows me to choose. Anyone else have this problem?

iPhone 12 on iTunes High Sierra I am stuck with High Sierra on my Mac Mini. When I plug in my iPhone 12, iTunes (sometimes) asks if I want to connect to the phone, but the message to trust the computer never shows up on the phone. As a result of this, I can't connect my phone to iTunes. I can connect the phone to Image Capture and it correctly shows the 'Trust this computer' message on the phone. I can also see my photos after that. Has anyone else had this happen? How do I fix this? Thanks

Can't sync my iPhone Xs Max with iTunes 12.6.2.20 on Macbook Air (no updates available). Get message "You do not have permission to access iTunes" even after I've clicked "Trust computer" on my phone I can't sync my new iPhone Xs Max with iTunes 12.6.2.20 on my older Macbook Air (tried to update to latest version but according to App Store, no updates are available). Every time I connect my phone with a USB and hit "Trust" I get a message saying "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission." What's up with that?

iphone doesnt shpw in itunes I am running macOS Mojave on a mid 2010 MacPro my iPhone is running iOS 14.7.1 iTunes on the MAC is version Version 12.9.5.5. The iPhone shows as attached under USB on the system report so it isn't the cable. I trusted the computer with the pops up on the phone and computer. Neither my iPhone or my iPAD (separate issue) appear in iTunes. I have reboot everything. From what I have read the supposition is that I have a security system blocking access... Trouble is I dom have a security system. Is this just a result that my Mac Pro is too old and apple wants m Monet again?
