Can I use Bluetooth file exchange between a Mac Book with current OS X and a Desktop Mac with El Capitan?
Would you be able to transfer music through Bluetooth file exchange?

Search here for the Apple article.....enter something like sync using iTunes.

I do not know about Bluetooth File Exchange. However, I just transferred a lot of music from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone. I used iTunes. iCloud would also have worked.
If you take this approach, be sure you have current backups just in case....
