Why can’t I purchase music any longer?

I tried to buy a song and it seems like it’s forcing the user into a monthly fee to just buy one song??? What gives?

A subscription to Apple Music is optional, you can buy songs from the iTunes Store as you've always been able i.e. by clicking/tapping on the song's price button. If you don't want Apple Music to show you can disable it via Settings on your phone, Preferences on a computer's iTunes.
