My screen is not closing when i am calling someone

What can i do to close my screen when i am calling someone. When i call my friend (example) my screen is not locking and i touch with my ear the screen.

Bad Proximity Sensor I have a first generation SE. When I’m on a call holding the phone to my cheek, the screen doesn’t go black and I end up hitting random keys or the mute button. I have tried every type of reset, cleaned the screen, etc. but the proximity sensor doesn’t work. I’ll have to get rid of the phone if I can’t fix this. It’s no longer under warranty. Is the only fix to get the screen replaced?

Unresponsive Screen during phone call on XR during a phone call, my xr screen will go dark, the phone call is still happening, but for example, if i need to get to keypad to press 1 for english, it won't come back, or want to take it off speaker phone, etc Why doesn't the phone screen stay displayed?
