Time machine and iDisc backup

I store all my files in my iCloud Drive. When I backup my computer using time machine, does it also back up all my files in my iDisc? If so, how would I know it actually backed it up? Also, is it backing up all my photos in iCloud? Thank you

Will a fresh Time Machine backup include files stored in iCloud? I'm starting a fresh Time Machine volume for 2023. Will this include files that are currently stored in iCloud, but not locally? I really want to have everything on that backup drive, not just the things that have been synced to my local drive. Most importantly, I want to have all of my photos on this backup so that I'm not depending on Apple to have the only copy. Unfortunately, I can't just change my settings to make sure all my files and photos are kept locally, as my MacBook Air just doesn't have enough storage for that. Thanks!

Does Time Machine backup photos and videos in my "Photos" app on my mac? I'm using Time Machine on an external hard drive to backup all my files on my computer. But does Time Machine also backup my images and videos in the "Photos" app? (and if yes, how would I access those files when I enter the Time Machine?) Or does icloud backup all of those files in the Photos app?

Time Machine (Photos and iCloud Drive Optimize Storage) in MacBook Pro. Hello everybody, thank you for reading me. I have a MacBook Pro with 256GB of Disk Storage and I have to set Optimize Storage for Photos / Videos and for iCloud Drive, since my Photo Library is much larger than 256GB. I also monthly pay for 2TB of iCloud Storage. I understand that original full resolution Photos and Videos are in iCloud, but I also want to have a Local Backup (using an external 2TB disk) using Time Machine. But according to Apple, my Time Machine Backup IS NOT a Backup of my Original Full Resolution Photos and Videos. 1) Is there any way to solve this? 2) Or any other alternative to have a Local Backup? 3) Or any program to automatically backup directly from iCloud? Thank you!.

It will only backup files that are on your Mac, if your mac isn't optimised then the iCloud Drive files are mirrored on your Mac and can be included in a backup, if your files are optimised they are aren't backed up by time machine but are considered safe in the cloud.

That being said, files that have been on your Mac will be retained by the backup until they are removed over time because of size restrictions.
