rearranging files on external hard drive

I'm using a macbook and am trying to rearrange some films in a particular order on my external hard drive. However when I eject it and then check the folders, they go back into the original order. I've set it to sort by 'none' but doesn't seem to make a difference.

I haven't come across this, but I suspect that you would need to name and sort them on your computer, not the external.


I have mine set to none in Finder > View > Show View Options: none. Yet, in column view (which is what I use), yet they automatically show up in alphabetical order:
