What are the naming conventions for podcasts on Itunes?

Hi,

I am trying to find the rules around naming a podcast on Itunes.

Is there a set of rules and restrictions somewhere?

Thanks for any help!

Kevin

You can name your podcast anything you like, provided that the name hasn't already been used, and that it does not contain any strong or sexual language (this latter goes for all episode titles, subtitles and summaries/descriptions). You can use strong or sexual language in the actual episodes but you must flag them and the podcast itself as 'explicit' - however doing so does not allow this, as I said, in the titles etc. (Incidentally self-censored words, e.g. s**t, are not acceptable either.)

It's advisable to keep the titles in plain text - no strange characters: diacriticals are probably OK particularly in a language which needs them. Careful with the use of an ampersand - '&' - anywhere in a feed as it can wreck it - you must use the code & instead. So 'Pork & Beans' must show in the feed as 'Pork & Beans' (it will show correctly).

In general, you could look at:

which will show you the things you must not do. And when you come to choose a category and sub-category you must stick to the ones listed here:
