iTunes will not connect to the internet
iTunes and Safari will not connect to the internet on my iMac. This problem just started today. My wi-fi is fine and Chrome works fine.

Have you rebooted your router and your Mac?
Have you checked the state of your firewall?
Do you have another browser that works?
Have you checked for malware? E.g. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/.

This problem started soon after I updated Pages, Numbers, Keynote and iMovie. Could that have caused the problem?
Same scenario at my iMac.
My problem was apparently caused by the SOCKS Proxy. Apple Support guided me through fixing the problem. All is well now.
