Fonts I add on the Mac do not show up in Powerpoint

I have installed a couple of fonts but they never show up in the Powerpoint font list. Am I doing something wrong? These are "ttf" fonts.

Why don't my fonts show up in my font book when I download them? I have downloaded a true type font from the internet and when I click on the download button to add it to my font book, it goes through the process like it is adding it, but then it does not show up in my font book. This seems like a very straight forward process. This is my first Mac so I am not familiar with using a font book. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Microsoft applications cannot see installed fonts Hi, I am using a Macbook Air OSX el capitan ver 10.11 and fonts that are downloaded are available in all applications except Microsoft apps. I see the font in the user folder, however when I open PowerPoint of Word no font. Help!

Fonts not showing as option in Numbers or Pages I have several Chinese character fonts installed as fonts in Font Book on my MacAir but they don't come up as choices as fonts in either Pages or Numbers...
