Is there any way to give an application explicit access to camera or microphone?

I am having the same problems (and the same lack of support from Pearson). I believe they have not updated the proctorapp software to deal with the new software security systems in 10.14. I installed a VM (through VMware Fusion) of macOS 10.12 (Sierra) and inside that VM, I am able to meet the requirements and run the Pearson testing software. It is a pain, but it works.

Sorry - spoke too soon. the app actually crashes after to get through all of the setup questions and run the actual exam. Not sure if its the VM setting or a security issue. Will be looking into it...

I chatted with their support team, no help. Deleted everything, went to the System Test and downloaded the file again... It came across as a DMG (not a zip). It installed, requested all the permissions, Passed all the tests. Strangely, it's now called "PVproctor" instead of "Onvue" and runs in Adobe Air.

I finally managed to run this application!

Using this method the OneVue is able to detect my WebCam, however it still needs my head-phone to detect the Mic.

I haven't tried to test it completely because my exam is in 2 weeks.

Please test this method and keep us posted about the result.

I got everything to run using this method.

1)  open terminal

2) command -> open -g /Applications/OnVUE.app/Contents/MacOS/proctorapp 

3) Running it this way got the macOS security system to pop-up the microphone and camera access requests.

Note: in the security preferences, these permissions show up as "Terminal" not "OnVue" or "proctorapp"

4) It immediately saw the camera, but was finicky about the mic. Even though when I made noise and the mic bar was clearly bouncing up and down, I had to refresh (upper right) and/or toggle the mic input selector a couple of times. It passed after a couple of tries and I was able to move forward with the set up.

The system went all the way to the end and gave me the sample test, so I think this process is a good workaround, until they fix their OnVue tool.

Which application and have to contacted the developer?

I see. Not very helpful are they? Maybe they'll get back to you. I have the feeling you won't get much of an answer here. One can hope.
