Pop up message - Apple ID asking to connect from Beijing!??

Hi,

a pop up message just appeared on my screen asking me to allow access to my Apple ID from Beijing. I am concerned because I just updated to the latest ios version and now I have seen posts about it not being safe. Can someone please tell me how to check if my details have been compromised? I did not allow access and changed my password straight away, but there is no other ios version yet and I am concerned :/

You might want to consider changing your password and making sure it is a strong one. You can also add 2 Factor Authentication to your account for more security. If the attempts continue, you might want to consider a name change.

If you are not anywhere near Beijing you have cause to be concerned. Sometimes the location given in those messages can be quite far from where you actually are as they are based on a carrier antenna location.

What do you mean by "there is no other iOS version yet"? The current version is iOS 12.4.
