Had a notification that someone was trying to access my Apple ID in Shanghai and I’m in the United States

Hey I’m a bit concerned over what I woke up to this morning. Had a notification that someone was trying to access my Apple ID in Shanghai and I’m in the United States. The request to sign in came 4 hours before I woke up. Is there anyway they might have signed into my account before I denied access? Also is there a way to access my sign in activity or a way to prevent people signing in going forward? Password has already been changed.

No they could not have signed in before your denied access.And, you won't be able prevent people signing in going forward. But, you can Check your Apple ID device list (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064) and remove any device that shouldn't be signed in using the steps in the link.

If there are none that shouldn’t be signed in, then you would not have a problem. But, if an unauthorized device is signed in, Change your Apple ID password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201355
