Automatically map Active Directory drives to Mac OS?

To provide some context, I work as an IT admin at a public library. We have a digital studio that runs on its own server. When someone creates a digital studio account, they also get a personal drive on the server so they can store video and audio projects. On Windows this maps right away and they can access and save without issue. However, on Mac OS this is not the case.

Is there a relatively easy way to achieve this on Mac OS? Basically I want the user to log in and right away see that drive and they can save files to it. I saw some articles about using Automator or AppleScript, but I don't know much about these. Thanks!

Hello!

I myself work in IT and I am having the same issue. When I have been in conversations with the network team they tell me that there may be some setting in Active Directory that has to be turned on in order to allow for the network folder or home drive to be mapped to the computer.

Also, check the image below and ensure that the two options that are circled are turned on under the directory utility settings/options. If these are turned on then it may be the problem with AD that I mentioned above.

Let me know if this helps!
