Google calendar items not displaying in Calendar on Mac but do show up one iPhone and Apple Watch

Today, suddenly, almost all of the my Google calendar events disappeared from my Calendar app on my MacBook Pro. A few that do show up were put there by e-mail requests for hotel bookings. All the others don't appear. The normal Calendar button is there and checked, and when I uncheck it the hotel bookings go away. They come back once it is checked again. All the information is still there when I go to Google Calendar or on my iPhone calendar and Apple Watch Calendar. They just don't show up on the Calendar on my laptop. All of my other calendars (Outllook, iCloud) still show up. I tried quitting Calendar and even rebooting, but the problem remains. Any ideas?

I went to Apple support with this issue and it took some time, but they solved it. Essentially, they had me go to the accounts window in Internet Accounts and turn off all of my Calendars. Then we went to Library/Calendars/ and had me delete everything inside of that folder, put it in the trash and empty the trash. Then I went back to Internet Accounts, started up all of my Calendars again by checking Calendars in all of my accounts, and in a few minutes all of my calendars came back from the internet and repopulated. It is always dangerous to delete system files but I had a very crammed /Library/Calendars folder. If you're worried you could copy all the files to a flash drive before deleting them from your machine, just in case you want to use any of them. They, or something like them, are recreated once you start your Calendars. I take no responsibility for any incidental damage that might occur from trying this, just saying what worked for me. Rich

well, i did it a couple of times (removed and re-added). all the events show up for a while, then certain calendar disappear again..

looks like there is a huge issues between calendar and google since so many people are experiencing the same issues.

I would agree since this morning, it has happened to me again. Clearly Google is doing something in it's Calendar protocol that is somehow corrupting the calendars when they are fed into Mac Calendar. I haven't tested yet to see if redeleting the /Users/me/Library/Calendars files would fix it again, but even if it does, I'd hate to have to do it every day. Must be a Google issue if it keeps recurring on multiple clients. Rich

i have the same problem since yesterday and your tips do not help. :(

i tried restarting and disabling/enabling everything and deleting the account and in the end the google calendars are listed in the left column correctly but the events dont show up in the calendar.

Hi Richard, thank you for your advice. I can't seem to locate the "Library" folder. I used the search engine and it gives me different results, but none containing "/Calendars/".

FYI, I just upgraded to Mojave. Thank you.

So far the events have remained...but I think I will look into BusyCal just in case. At some point Apple needs to fix the issue. Since Google still syncs with my iOS devices, it has to be a problem with the Mac software.

Could you please help me in order to not miss understood what you did. I have found the folder Library/Calendars I just need to know which files I need to put into the trash? all or just the 3 Calendar Cache?

Launched calendar this morning and everything is working again. Definitely something on Apple's end.

Too late though, I already switched to BusyCal. The appointment entry and edit is faster and easier than Calendar. Busycal puts day name and date on separate lines though, which wastes vertical space. It's also slower switching between week month and year. Faster appointment entry and edit are worth it though.

Glad I have redundant calendars running in case one of them goes down again.

So now as of 8pm CET its resolved. I didnt touch a thing and all of a sudden all my gmail calendar events are back up in apple calendar.

So this was clearly an Apple or Google issue, even though Apple support kept denying knowing anythig (I called them and they kept pushing me to solve it at my end via removing my google account and re-adding it again, which I refused to do at that time. Hope this will not happen again.

Anyone knowledgable of what exactly happened? Or maybe an Apple insider cares to comment?

I just tried this, but when I try to add my google account again all I get is

"Failed to verify the server certificate. This could be because of your network configurations or your proxy settings".

Never had this issue, so wondering what's going on. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks for getting back to me. I re-booted and could add my Google account with a problem. I now see all of my calendars again, like before, so the problem seems to be fixed.

I have the same problem (started 8/21 pm) and have tried the same steps above without successful resolution. Sadly using my calendar elsewhere until this is fixed.

This worked initially and all of my calendars reappear. Unfortunately after 5 minutes all of the calendars disappeared.

I tried this. All items re-appeared for a few seconds and then all disappeared again.
