My IMac keeps switching the Socks Proxy "on".

Is there a fix to the problem of what is causing the SOCKS Proxy to be enabled on system boot on my MAC. I am using OS 10.14.6 My Microsoft outlook will not connect to any of my email servers with the SOCKS enabled. Once disabled everything works fine. Is there a program that loads, that sets this function to true?

Does the SOCKS proxy get turned on after you run the free Malwarebytes for Mac, and reboot. If there is ad/malware triggering the Proxy settings, Malwarebytes may discover and remove it.

Secondarily, is there any setting on your router that has enabled a Proxy setting that may be passed through and detected by macOS, which in turn, enables it in Network Preferences?

That is good news.

I only download software directly from the original software vendor site if I cannot get it in the Mac App Store. It cuts down on all the tampering by download aggregation sites like MacUpdate. If I visit a website that is a sea of green download links and tons of hyperlinks and JavaScript rollovers, I leave the site and never return. I also clear my browser history and Caches for good measure.
