Why can’t I update apps? I get a message saying


The discounted price is only available to customers who own a previous version. To purchase this item at full price, click buy.


These apps were purchased a long time ago and free?

There have been a number of posts over the last week or so with the same problem, and so far I haven't seen a solution. You could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww (click on your country's flag, the country where you live, and which is therefore the country on the account ; click on Contact Support towards the top right ; click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us’)
