iMessage

Suddenly, I am not receiving iMessages on my Mac. Instructions I found on line are very confusing. Any suggestions?

I'm here assuming this is just messages, and that you are otherwise able to access the Internet; that your network is working, save for Messages. If the network isn't working on the Mac, neither will Messages.

I'd try a reboot of your Mac, first. I'd then try the Apple Messages login troubleshooting procedures. If you have add-on anti-malware or anti-virus apps, or add-on cleaning apps, remove those per the vendors' instructions, reboot, and try again. Failing all that, log out of your Apple ID on the Mac, reboot your Mac, and log into your Apple ID and Messages again.

If the above doesn't address this, could you post a link to the instructions you've find, and could you provide some background on the confusion, so that we might clarify that, or avoid causing further confusion?

Thank you so much! I was able to reboot and eventually have access to iMessage again. At first, the iMessage panel only gave me the choice of activiating AIM or Jabber, but I persisted and finally the iMessage choice appeared, and I was able to reactivate as needed. I appreciate your assistance and am inspired to restart my MacBook Pro more often.
