iPod nano 5th generation only works when connected to power source. How can I fix this?

i have tried resetting by pressing menu and center at same time. I have also restored on the computer in disk mode and it still will not work. It will play when plugged in to power source or when I have it docked with a speaker.

Hello 19moz,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I see from your post that your iPod nano (5th generation) will not work unless it is connected to a power source.

In this particular situation I recommend that you check out this article called Vintage and obsolete products and check out your options for additional support.

I hope this information helps you!

Cheers.
