Cannot add Google account anymore on iOS 12.4

I changed my gmail password and clicking on "Re-Enter" password in "Passwords and Accounts" did not do anything. So I deleted my Gmail account and trying to add it back. Clicking on "Google" in "Add Account" does not do anything. Using "Other" and specifying gmail settings does not work either and there are no options to enable TLS.

How do I setup my Google account again to sync mail and calendars?

Thanks!

Hi pdranger,

Try this.

  1. Please open your  Account
  2. Security page.
  3. Locate a panel labeled
  4. 'Lesser Secure App Access', and turn it on.
  5. If it is on, please
    1. turn it off, and then back on.
  6. Re-add the account to Apple
  7. Mail.

Please let me know what is happening.

Thanks,

You are not alone. Lots of people are talking about this today. For reasons unknown, the settings are not working properly. I am seeing the same thing as you, I have reported it to the hosts here in ASC but I don’t know what that can do about it other than to report it to someone in the appropriate department.

We will just have to wait for Apple to fix it.
