Font book: Fonts all named 'regular' despite having different weights

Hi all,

I'm having the same problem described in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3133158 and https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7462536 -- but neither ever had a resolution, which is a bit worrying.

I'm new to Mac, and trying to install the fonts that my employer uses for its branding -- in this case, Gotham -- but I'm having an issue where they're installing fine (no errors), yet all the weights in the Gotham family are titled as Regular and Italic. As a result, Photoshop and other apps are unable to see the full and proper list of available weights.

I've tried the 'resolve duplicates' and 'validate font' options, and neither of these have shown any issues or errors.

I've also tried restarting the computer and restarting font book.

Could anybody please help me figure this out?

I’m sorry, but I don’t have any fonts that exhibit this problem. I can’t tell how they may or may not appear. I know even less about fonts on your workmates’ machines. If those fonts are working fine, then the problem seems limited to your machine. Maybe delete the fonts that you have and get new ones. Fonts are quite complicated. There is not guarantee that your Gotham font is the same as someone else’s Gotham font.
