iPad mini Smart cover lock/unlock not working

Is iPad mini smart cover lock/unlock feature works with tempered glass on the screen of iPad?

In my case the lock/unlock feature isn’t working with the tempered glass on and I don’t want to remove the tempered glass… if it will work without it then i’ll remove the tempered glass. The lock/unlock feature is on.

The screen protector should have no effect on the lock/unlock feature. Are you using an Apple smart cover or a 3rd party smart cover? If you bought it from Apple take it to your Apple store and show it to them. If it's a 3rd party product, you'd have to deal with the seller you bought it from.
