Double-click not working on Macbook Pro 2015

I have a Macbook Pro from Early 2015 with macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6 and my double click isn't working.

Double clicks when I just want single click So I just moved over to a new Mac Studio with Ventura 13.2.1. I'm getting double-click behavior *sometimes* when all I want is a single click. I have slowed the double click speed down to its slowest setting (slider at leftmost) in settings->accessibility->pointer control, and I have the same issue whether I'm using an Apple Magic Mouse or a Kensington wired trackball (so I know it's not the device). Super annoying; I'll click on a file to get some info about it and it starts to open, or I'll single click on some parameter to modify and it'll act like I double clicked it. Why does my M1 Mac mini Hold primary clicks for no reason? No matter what input device I use, my Mac will annoyingly hold a primary click in a lock. This happens when using spreadsheets, pages and other things where I have to drag with a primary click. Very frustrating. Running OSX 12.1, reinstalled OSX with no change. Issue happens at random. Please fix. Have even tried bluetooth input devices with the same result.

Hi KyleFerny5,

It sounds like you're having trouble with Double-Click, and I want to help.

Let's go to System Preferences > Mouse. Here you should be able to adjust the Double-Click speed. If you change this to be more slow, it should allow you to Double-Click more easily.
