Identityservicesd high CPU..... help....

Not sure what it's doing but my laptop has been draining battery quicker than usual.

I did an update not too long ago and noticed my charger plug has been peeling.

This "Identityservicesd" is running at high 90s CPU......


Do i get rid of it?

This service is used to sign into third-party apps. Most likely, you have a number of these apps that are launched at login.


I suggest that you try the following first:

  1. When you boot up your Mac and get to the login screen, go ahead and enter your password ... but before you click on the Login button, hold down the Shift key, and then, click on the button. This should temporarily disable any login items that would run.
  2. Now run the Activity Monitor to see if Identityserviced is still running at "full throttle." It should be at or near 0.0 % CPU now. Is it?
