Issues with mini-jack lightning adapter

I have multiple problems with my mini-jack adapter. It was already defective when I pulled this out from the box. So, when i connected this adapter to my Iphone 8 Plus and then i connected mini jack Samsung headphones i could hear beeping, i found out that i have to press all the buttons on the headphones pilot which honestly dont work( i cant volume up or down music or even stop) but it was always helping me, issue stopped. But i had to retry this strange action every time when i connected my headphones. Now I have a new issue. I connect my adapter with headphones and Siri activates itself, i press home button to turn her off and siri activates again! And she activates herself for about 4 times. But sometimes when i move the cable of the adapter something strange happens because my music changes itself or it rewinds. It happens with all my headphones. Should I buy a new adapter ? Or this is just a bug in the software? Cheers.
