battery charging for night to morning

Does charging automatically stop when charging is complete?

This is when I charge my iPhone while I sleep and it stays on until morning.

No, it isn't harmful for the battery to keep it connected to the charger after charging has finished. The battery knows it is full and stops charging itself.

To be pedantic: It is harmful to keep the battery at 100% for an extended time (like more than a month). But the few hours while you sleep is completly fine.
