Can't delete podcast from my library

I have an iPad2 (IOS 9.3.5) and a MacBook Pro (2015 - macOS Mojave 10.14.6). I have a podcast that I was subscribed to that is synced between my iPad and my MBP. I have unsubscribed from the podcast and I've attempted to delete it repeatedly. I get a pop-up asking if I'm sure and telling me how many episodes are going to be deleted. I click the Delete button and nothing happens. The podcast just stays there.

I thought maybe it had something to do with syncing with the iPad but after doing that it still just there. I've closed down iTunes and opened it back up, still there.

What am I missing?
