Creating a folder for multiple images animation fcpX

I know that in FCP X, there is no way to create a custom folder and put all the imported stills, lik ein FCP 7 I used to do.

How do I make all the hundreds and hundreds of stills not to show on the left side library browser?

Thanks.

"Smart collection does not hide all the stills from the animation sequence, does it?"

Not sure what you are asking here. What is the "animation sequence" you are talking about?

FWIW there are many conditions you can use to define a smart collection.

One of these is "Used Media", where you can choose "Used" or "Unused". You can also make it even more selective by adding different keywords.

I imported into my event animation sequence thousands PNG files, which where created in 3D animation software. It did not come as a one clip. After importing and selecting the project I have these stills are showing in the library browser on the top left. They are among the video and music clips. So in order to find some video other still images files I have to scroll all thousand stills to get to the right file, unless I do search. I followed Tom's suggestion and created an event and moved all the stills into that event.

In FCP7 I used to create a folder, and placed all the stills inside, so they were out of my way. Hope this explains, and thanks for Luis.your help,

If I were to buy a $50 software for turning a bunch of numbered still image files into a movie I’d go with Motion instead of Compressor. Both can do that.

I have both. Compressor I have used maybe half a dozen times but with Motion I have created many titles and generators for use with FCP X.

For amateurs like me, there is a lot more to use Motion for than there is for Compressor.
