No email or text notifications on Apple Watch Series 3

I have tried everything. Turning on all notifications on Phone (Xs max) and Watch, updating, restarting both devices, chatting with Apple support, and reading articles and posts. I cannot get notifications for email and texts on my watch. I rely on this function for work and never had a problem with my Series 1 watch that I just traded in... Please help.
