iCal custom event colors do not show up on iPhone

Why would you allow users to customize iCal colors on their computers beyond the default seven colors, if the iPhone can only show the seven default colors? If you make a customized color on iCal on your MacBook Pro or iMac it will pick a random color of the seven default colors for that customized color for your iPhone. FYI on iPhone you can't customize a color either, you only have the seven default options. Having my iPhone generate a random of the seven default colors for a customized color was very confusing when looking at the calendar on my iPhone. Is it just a really difficult coding task to have the iCal custom colors on your iPhone reflect what you did on an apple computer?

I had the same problem. Here is a solution:

Create a new calendar via icloud.com. (just click on edit and then + at the bottom).

Once you have created the calendar, you can click on the colourful circle to make a custom colour.

This way it spreads across all the devices.

Now there is an issue with this solution. It works only if you never set the colour on any of the devices. So if you have your custom colour, than change it on for example iPhone to a default colour and then change it again via icloud.com, it is not gonna apply on your devices. Which is a problem with your existing calendars - those are not gonna change if you do this. So it seems, the only solution is to delete them and create new ones and never changing the colour in any other way. Possibly, merging your preexisting calendar with a new one (with custom colour via icloud) might work as well.

It is a rather small issue but it has been bothering me as well. So I hope this helps.
