2019 MacBook - Keyboard backlight not working in bootcamp with Win10 1903?

2019 MacBook Air with all updates installed

Windows 10 Pro version 1903, also known as the Windows 10 May 2019 Update

I recently bought the MacBook Air and then installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro with bootcamp. There are no missing device drivers under Windows Device Manager. The keyboard backlight does not work even after logging into Windows.

What are the methods for troubleshooting this and getting that working? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I reset the SMC using both options under the T2 chip method here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295#t2

The backlight still does work in Windows. I should also mention the keyboard backlight works fine when booting into macOS.

I was able to fix this problem by reinstalling the windows support software from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204923
