Unable to change Phone Number for Imessage and facetime

First, I changed my number and when I went to change it for iCloud it said for me to turn off iMessage and Facetime to delete the number. I did that and then I turned it back on and it tried connecting to my old number. So I turn it both off again and restarted my phone. When it turned on it told me to sign in to my Apple ID to use for my iMessage I do that and it says unable to connect to iMessage servers but than my Facetime got activated and tried to connect to my old number but it didn’t have my new number. I ran out of ideas. I need help!
