Image Capture to PDF not readable

Has anyone had an issue using image capture to scan a document to pdf and finding the document not readable? I can scan to a jpg without an issue at all, but when I select pdf, it is just a bunch of lines. I am attaching pictures of the 2 different scans. The only thing I changed was the format.

scanned pdf on pages Hi Hope everyone is doing well. I need a little help with pages. I am creating an index which requires scanned pdfs to be linked to each item. I used insert--> import from iPhone ---> scan documents through camera ---> save I successfully scanned around 7 pages. However, after the scan has been inserted to the document, I have no idea as to how I can view the pdf pages within. I double clicked on it and nothing opened. Have tried to see the properties, the other pages don't show. I enlarged the image (thinking the other pages could need more space). I also clicked on image in the format part of the app. How do I access the scan directly through my document so that I have all pdfs under each topic name? Any help would be useful. 'Create PDF' does not work when combining screenshots Hello, I am trying to combine a few screenshots into a single pdf file. I had done this many times using using the Finder gallery view, select the files and click 'create pdf', it will then suggest a file name that I can overwrite. But now, when i click 'create pdf', there is just a 'ding' sound and no file is created, no file name appear either. I presume the action is not successful and I wonder what I did to cause this problem. Please help and thanks!

Black thumbprints for recent videos The last batch of photos i uploaded from my iPhone 11 display black thumbprints only for the .mov type videos. They display ok when i select them, and will subsequently display the thumbprints once i trim them. But why suddenly this issue ? Catalina on iMac

At first Image Capture wouldn't save a PDF scan for me with 10.14.6. It just got sent out to never-never land. But after scanning to JPEG and GIF, it scanned to PDF just fine.

So boot into Safe Mode and try from there. Also scan to jpeg and gif as I did. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
