HowTo: Backoff/Restore an iOS Update?

How can I back off or restore to the previous version of iOS?

iOS v12.4.1 auto-installed over the weekend. The following day and every day since, the battery drains quickly and the iPad Air 2 turns off at 30%. Not good for me when using the iPad for flight navigation. (Wife's iPad Pro does not seem to face this issue and we use it as a backup for navigation).

I'd like to back off only the iPad 2.

Going backwards is simply not supported, so you can't.

Did you reboot your iPad after the iOS update? If you didn't it's generally a good thing to do and may solve the issue for you.

To Reboot, press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time (keep holding past the swipe to power off) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go.
