Using multiple MPE inputs on separate tracks in Logic Pro?

I have three MIDI controllers I want to record simultaneously and independently: A Korg microKey Air 49, a ROLI Block, and a Sensel Morph. The Korg is set to send on MIDI channel 1 while the Block and Morph are MPE instruments set to broadcast across channels 2 - 16.

How can I set up Logic to feed three plugins (Pigments, Equator, and Cypher 2) their own MIDI-input streams? I want the Korg to drive *only* Pigments. I want the Block to drive *only* Equator. I want the Morph to drive *only* Cypher 2. I do not want to record one track at a time. I want to be able to record all three tracks in real time as a performance using all three MIDI controllers.

Right now, there's no way to select more than one track in Logic's track inspector. I was thinking I could select ch. 1 for the Korg, channels 2 - 10 for the Block, and channels 11 - 16 for the Morph, but I see no way to do that.

By default, whenever I play the Block, the MIDI it sends appears on both the Block and Morph tracks. Likewise, whenever I poke the Morph, I get MIDI on my Block track. I want the Block info to remain only on the Block track and the Morph info to remain only on the Morph track.

What can I do to funnel MPE instruments to their own, unique tracks?

Thanks!

First your MIDI Controllers must be set to transmit on three separate channels, then the channel strip MIDI output for each instrument must be set to match the instrument you have as it's controller. Then the key, go to Logic's FILE menu/ Project Settings/Recording and select Auto-DeMix by channel......

Now the controller should trigger the respective instruments.

Two additional comments - for live playback - you must enable record on all tracks - you can also create and assign all 16 tracks with their respective midi channels - to do what you describe.

recording will initially appear to be on only 1 track however when you press stop all midi data will moved- redistributed to any track with a matched midi channel assignment

Thanks! That got me rolling.

I also set the ROLI Block to use the "Upper" MPE zone using eight MIDI channels to keep the Block farther away from the Morph (which offered only an "MPE" option per defined Morph region). When I take a peek using MIDI Monitor, it looks like the Block is living (MIDI wise) between channels 10 and 16, the Morph action happens between channels 2 and 10, and the Korg chats on channel 1.

It is unusual to see Logic remap a single recorded track to the respective device tracks when you stop recording, but it works.

The main issue for me was live performance and now I can do that via Logic Pro.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the additional comments, usually forget to mention record enable as I run my old PPC machine as a "playback only" 7 channel multitimbral sound module using Logic 9 with an environment channel splitter. Can't record but will playback any incoming MIDI channel without record being enabled. Same setup With Demix and the MIDI channel assignment.
