Delete an email on mac that is simutaneously deleted on iphone and ipad

I use gmail and when I delete and email on my mac it remains on my ipad and iphone. How can I have the email deleted on all 3 at once?

Log into gmail's web site and ensure your email account is configured as IMAP.

Are you using IMAP or POP3 for your Gmail account? I assume that you are syncing these accounts via iCloud ... correct?
