USB-C to HDMI not showing

So my 2019 MacBook Air is not connecting through the HDMI cable to the TV. I have tried both ports and both times says to disconnect the usb cable using too much power?!

HDMI Port damaged after the adapter was plugged in Hi, I'm using Macbook Pro 15" Mid-2015. While connecting to the TV via the HDMI port, I plugged the adapter into the socket to charge my MBP. Then the TV shut down and the HDMI port wasn't working anymore. Could anyone tell me what really happened? It seems that the TV was damaged and so did the HDMI port on the MBP. Thank you.

Hdmi port not working Hi I have a 2014 macbook pro and have been using an hdmi to hdmi cable to watch on my tv. Just today it stopped working. I tried changing the cable and still did not work. I checked in system preferences and when hdmi connected to tv no devices are detected. can I connect my macbook to my tv with any other port or cable? Is my hdmi port broken? Please anyone with ideas....

Just a connector, We did find that the connecter was not compatible with my laptop after MacOS updated. Guess I am buying the Apple one now, as well as the USB one because you can't have both hooked up according to reviews :/
