Recently the external audio from my Tascam DR-05 does not sync with my Canon M3. Using Audacity I have to speed up the external audio 4.2% in order for the waveforms to line up. I've been using this setup for a year and this is a recent developement.

Can you give the complete specs of the video and audio?
What specs are you referring to?
The more information you n give the better. Format, codec, frame rate, audio sample rate for the Canon, format and audio sample for the Tascam.
Canon:
1920 × 1080
23.98 frame rate
48 kHz audio
Codec 'avc1', AAC
Tascam:
format 32 bit float
48 kHz
The Tascam format is WAV? I don’t know why you would have this problem with this media.

Just to confirm the Canon is MPEG-4, or is it shooting AVCHD? Don’t know this equipment.
Are you using the sync clip function? Is that where the problem is?
Not using sync function, I visually lineup waveforms.
