Alert - Need to Install the Java SDK

When I start my Mac and at other random times I get an alert telling me to that I need to install the Java SDK. This started when I installed Mac OS Mojave.

I'm not a Java developer and I don't have net beans on my machine. What's posting this alert and how can I get rid of it?

Hi, have had the same problem. In my case there was an old "com.facebook.videochat.USERNAME.plist" in the LaunchAgents.

This old stuff asked for old legacy Java SE 6. Please check the hint here:

Hi Warrren Anderson,

Thanks for posting. I understand you're seeing a prompt about Java SDK on your Mac. This would typically come up if you have an app or you're accessing a website that requires Java, documented here: Get Java for your Mac

"Get the latest version

If an app or webpage you want to use asks you to install Java software, you can download the current version of Java for OS X directly from Oracle's website.

Note: You can also download legacy Java SE 6 from Apple if you’re using an app that specifically requires this unsupported, out-of-date version."

The links above should help you to install any Java updates needed. I hope I've answered your question. Take care.

The alert is telling me that I need the Java SDK to develop command-line scripts with Java. This happens at startup so no, it's not any application that I'm running or a site that I use. It's some sort of daemon or something that's being launched at startup. I've looked in my library and tried to find it but I can't. At one time I used Adobe applications. Adobe is horrible about putting invisible files in your library, making it impossible to uninstall their products. I suspect that this is the culprit.

EtreCheck reports:

unsigned launchd scripts:

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.oracle.java.Helper-Tool.plist

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Resources/com.oracle.java.Java-Updater.plist

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Resources/com.oracle.java.Helper-Tool.plist

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.oracle.java.Java-Updater.plist

and

Launch Daemons:

 [Not Loaded] com.oracle.java.Helper-Tool.plist

Could one of these be doing this.

Also I have Java installed but I can't see anywhere on the Java web site where I would get the Java SDK if I wanted it and I don't.
