my Itunes will not sync with my iphone xs

On my MBP mid -2015 using current version of Mojave, iTunes, when opened will NOT sync with my iPhone XS regardless of it being connected by USB to the aforementioned MBP. Frequently, it is looking for my IPAD which is NOT connected but it does not seek my iPhone XS. Thoughts for resolution?

I can't get my iPhone X to sync manually to my MacBook. When I go to iTunes on my Mac via USB, there is no icon. For some reason, the only way I get iBooks to sync is by doing it manually - through iTunes. Also, while I'm at it, iTunes does not show up in iCloud. I remember it used to not do that but I thought that it's different now. Please keep in mind I am an aging Boomer who is techno-impaired. THANKS!

Incompatibility between MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6, iTunes 12.8.2.3 and iOS 14.3 I have been accustomed to syncing my iTunes library with my phone but since update to iOS 14, I can no longer do that. Normally, when I plug my phone in to my Macbook Pro, an icon shows up on my iTunes (v12.8.2.3) window indicating which device is connected and there is a "Summary" command in the column on the left of the hand side of the screen. Since upgrading to iOS 14, neither the device , not the command show up any longer. When I have check the Hub info under the USB Device Tree in "System Report" it confirms that i have an iPhone connected to the USB 2.0 bus, so I know that it is not an issue with my lightning cable. Despite that, I can't sync my phone through iTunes any longer. Does anyone know of a workaround for this problem?

Can not get Win 10 computer to link with itunes. Device manager not showing itunes device. Can not Sync with iPhone. When open itunes the small icon for itunes is not showing and can not Sync. iPhone icon (small computer symbol to show connection from computer to iPhone) does not show. Device manager for iTunes not listed. Sync between iPhone and Computer does not work....but seems like Wi-Fi does download music to iPhone

Do you unlock the iPhone before connecting it to USB? Reboot both device and computer then try again.
