How will I know if there is liquid damage to MacBook?

I spilled less than a tablespoon of coffee on the keyboard of my MacBook. I immediately turned it off and dried the liquid. It is resting in a v shape. How will I know if there is damage? When should I turn it on the see if it is working properly?

If something doesn't work correctly once you've turned the machine on again, that will be a sign that there might be damage. Then, you make arrangements with Apple to have it evaluated.
