My sister recorded videos on an Iphone 7 and uploaded the videos to an HP computer to add to a USB drive. I tried to add to my computer (Mac Air). However, I cannot open the MOV file in Quicktime movie player, ITunes or in IMovie or Adobe Premier/Encoder.
I can open these documents on my friends mac computer and an HP computer, but not on my personal computer - which I need them on.
Any tips?

Is the video codec HEVC? Though capturing in HEIF and HEVC format is recommended, you can set the device to capture media using the older formats, which are more broadly compatible with other devices and operating systems:
The above support document also describes how to set the settings on the phone to allow transfer to your computer directly, and convert on import from HEVC (H.265) to AVC (H.264), as it negotiates what is compatible for that computer. For inconsistency reasons, this setting can be found under Photos.
(Or you can use third party conversion software to do the conversion.)
