Liquid Damage - Won't charge

I spilled some beer on my Mac a few days ago, wiped it off immediately. The next day, it seemed to work ok, except it was making quite a bit of noise, and took longer to load, however, the following day, as I put it on charge, as the battery died, the screen would lit up, showing the "dead battery" symbol, but won't charge. Is this it for it or could I still rescue it?
