My Photostream not showing in Photos on my 2018 Macbook Air

My Photostream is not showing on the Photos app on my 2018 MacBook Air, no problem with my other devices (2xiPhone, 1xMacbook Pro, 1x iPad Air). Photostream is checked in the iCloud section on the Air, when I looked at the same in Photo app Preferences, iCloud does not figure, there is an error message about system photo library. I have tried logging out of iCloud on the Air, logging back in again, unchecking and checking photo stream, all to no avail. Also, Photo on the Air had fewer images on shown than the equivalent on my Pro.

Is this a bug that needs sorting, anybody else also experienced the same situation
