Blocking iMessage spam conversations, and deleting the conversation I can fairly easily block an unwanted spam conversation in iMessage. However, my primary question is, can I delete the icon and conversation and still keep that spammer blocked?

You may block text messages --> Block phone numbers and contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or ...

Your reply was tried out, but...even on a top level iMac or iPhone XR of 2019 vintage...I can't do what you suggest
