I just migrated from my work 2013 MacBook Pro running 10.14.6 to a Touch Bar MacBook Pro also on 10.14.6.
I used the Apple "Migration Assistant" to move from the older MacBook Pro. As always everything came across seamlessly...except iMessages no longer works for SMS.
The old computer still sends and receives SMS...but the new one does not.
What am I missing?

You have to add your new computer to Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone.
Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding.
You will see where it shows the existing devices, if you signed into your Apple ID account on your new computer, you might have to turn in on in these settings
Honestly, I don't know and I have no way to test it. I suggest that you start a new post in the Support Communities > Applications > iChat area where I believe you will get better results with getting an answer since your post has little in common with the OP of this post.

I don't thing iChat or iMessages work as before with Macs. My company has been using iChat for years. Now, my 10-year old Mac died and I bought a new one with Mojave. And...no iChat! I cannot chat with others on the network, but I can text from my Mac as if I was on my photo. That is not needed. I want iChat back!
Sorry, but iChat has basically been superseded by iMessages quite awhile ago ... since Messages was introduced with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. The last version of iChat (6.0.1) was released in 2012. However, you're free to submit your concern directly to Apple here:

It is not solved. My Mojave Mac still cannot communicate with others in my network running iChat or iMessage.
