Receiving duplicate texts in group messages

Recently (for about a month now) I've been receiving duplicate texts from specific people and only in group threads. When I message them directly, their responses are normal. This is quite annoying and sometimes makes it difficult to follow along.

The two people I continue to have this encounter with both use Android devices (that are not the same) and they're both on different networks (Sprint & Verizon, I am on AT&T).

I've asked if other people within the same group message if they are receiving the same issue and the only people that are, are also iphone users and on AT&T.

Any possible solutions would be very helpful as there doesn't seem to be any online at this point.
