Issues with Gmail on Mail.app on iOS

I have recently set up a Gmail account on my iPad Pro.

It’s a work email that I have created so I get a lot of mail on it.

But there is a strange issue, where new emails will go straight to the Archive in Mail.app yet remain unread.

I also mostly, but sometimes not, see the email in the Inbox as well.

When I go to the Archive in Mail.app and move them to the Inbox, then they immediately go back to the Archive automatically.

Anybody has experience with how to fix this?

I had a little trouble setting up gmail in the mail app so I just use the Gmail app and it works fine

Have you checked the account settings on the Gmail web site?

Are you using the offical apple mail app or the gmail app?

The problem is with the official Mail.app. I just now downloaded the Gmailapp

Alright. Did you have similar issues as me? I really regret creating that gmail account. I should have used an Outlook account. But I thought that Gmail had worked out its issues with Apples Mail.app on many years ago. I was mistaken.

I can’t shift my work gmail account to Gmail, because I rely on the built-in features of Apple’s Mail.app

this is what I see under Settings —> Accounts

its in Danish. But I hope it’s useful anyway
